Administrative / Biographical History
The Greater Glasgow Health Board Community/Primary Care Unit was formed by the Greater Glasgow Health Board during the period when general management was being introduced into the National Health Service in 1987. The Unit was responsible for health centres and clinics and for general practitioner services in medicine, dentistry and ophthalmology. These responsibilities were transferred to the Community and Mental Health Unit in 1992 and were subsequently vested in the Greater Glasgow Community and Mental Health National Health Service Trust.
