UKVI announced plans in June 2018 to expand the current Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa route into a broader Start-up visa route. The Start-up visa route will eventually replace the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa route in Summer 2019.
This change will not affect those currently on a Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa and it will still be possible to extend an existing Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa for a second year after the Start-up visa is introduced.
Students can apply for a Start-up visa endorsement in the future the same way as it is currently possible to apply for a the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur endorsement from Student Enterprise at University of Glasgow. Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur support from the Enterprise Manager (Marion Anderson) will continue as usual.
There will also be assistance with checking the Start-up visa application form and documents from International Student Support, as well as ongoing support for those on Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visas who wish to extend.
The Start-up visa route is expected to launch in Spring 2019 – as soon more details become available International Student Support will add these to our Latest News pages.
