Monday 5th September

Introduction to the International Student Support Team

Time: 10:00 – 11:00 (UK)

In this session you will hear about the fantastic support on offer for Visa and Immigration advice as well as details about how to book a one to one appointment with the team

Student Life In Glasgow

Join our Welcome Team assistants as they take you through a guide to student life in Glasgow and have your chance to ask any questions about living here in the UK.

Tuesday 6th September

Find out about the Careers Service at UofG

Time: 10:00 – 11:00 (UK)

Join our Careers team to hear about the advice, information, and guidance on offer to you while you study at the UofG. They will also provide information on working in the UK.

Introduction to the Graduate Route

Time 14:00 – 15:00 (UK)

Join this session to get an introduction to the Graduate Route visa – you will hear about when students need to apply for this type of visa, the current application costs and introductory information on how to make the application.

Wednesday 7th September

Introduction to Peer Wellbeing Support

Time: 11:00 – 12:00 (UK)

Join this session to hear from our Peer Wellbeing Trainers about the service. Peer Wellbeing Supporters are students who are trained to assist students experiencing mild mental health issues. Some of the issues students share with us include, loneliness, relationship worries, anxiety, exam concerns and coursework stress. No issue is too small.

Introduction to Residential Support

Time 14:00 – 15:00 (UK)

Residential Support, formerly known as the Living Support team is made up of a Warden, Senior Residential Support Assistants (SRSAs) and Residential Support Assistants (RSAs). They are current University of Glasgow staff and students who live on site and provide out of hours support to residents. They were all new to the University at one point too and have lots of advice and experience to share with you.

Thursday 8th September

Introduction to the SSET Team

Time: 10:00 – 11:00 (UK)

The Student Services Enquiry Team is your go-to team for official documents, university information, student resources, and contact details - as well as registration and enrolment support.

In this session, some of the SSET team will talk about how they can assist you during your student journey, how to access information, and demonstrate how use the UofG Helpdesk and MyCampus to support you throughout your students at UofG

Student Support Officers – Who are we and how can we help

Time 14:00 – 15:00 (UK)

Our dedicated team of Student Support Officers (SSO's) are here help students to be successful learners, by providing first line support as a listening ear, encouraging, and helping students to resolve issues and difficulties. Signposting them to sources of information, advice, and guidance in relation to their studies, their wellbeing and their future lives and careers.  

In this session some of our SSO's in the University will give you an introduction to their role and inform you of how you can get in contact with the SSO in your College/School

Friday 9th September

Walking Tour of the Campus (IN-PERSON EVENT)

Join our International Welcome Team for a fun filled quiz all about Scotland to finish off our welcome week for students

Our UofG International Welcome Team are on hand to help answer all of your questions at the start of term regarding your arrival and settling into Glasgow. The team are here to support you with any questions you have until you're underway with your studies.

Ask us about accommodation, how to register, getting to campus, shopping, getting to know Glasgow, BRP collection, Orientation activities and more.

Our team are all UofG current/recently graduated students and look forward to meeting you!
