Pitcher, Florence, Clyde PotteryThe Hunterian is home to one of the UK’s largest collections of Scottish pottery thanks to the bequest of University of Glasgow graduate Henry E (Harry) Kelly (1931-2008). A passionate collector and one of the leading authorities on Scottish ceramics, his extensive collection contains many fine examples of pottery from important Scottish manufacturers.

This display showcases a selection from The Hunterian collection, focusing on their decorative variety. Items from the collection are used regularly for research and teaching and further examples of Scottish pottery from the Harry Kelly bequest are on display in the Hunterian Museum in Glasgow.
