Gabriele Munter, Poster for Gabriele Munter Exhibition, Copenhagen, 1918.Hunterian Curator Peter Black will lead Friends on a tour of The German Revolution: Expressionist Prints. This major exhibition is drawn from The Hunterian’s exceptional collection of German Expressionist prints and supplemented by works on loan from the National Galleries of Scotland. Important prints by artists such as Munch, Kokoschka, Schmidt-Rottluff, Nolde, Pechstein, Heckel and Paula Modersohn-Becker explore themes such as Love and Anxiety, A Bridge to Utopia and Conflict and Despair. The selection includes works by significant female artists including Marie-Louise von Motesiczky and Käthe Kollwitz.
