Emmanuel Theodore de La Tour d'Auvergne, 1643-1715, Cardinal de Bouillion, French. He played a part in his uncle Marchal de Turenne's (1611-1675) conversion to Catholicism in 1668 and had an important role between Turenne and Louis XIV. He was sent as ambassador to Rome but returned to France where he was exiled to the Abbey of Toutnus and forbidden to enter Paris. In his last days he returned to Rome and resided at the Jesuit novitiate at Sant'Andrea al Quirinale, where he is buried.

The back of the medals depicts The Holy Door in St. Peter’s with the date 1700. The Holy Door is opened only every 25 years during a Holy or Jubilee Year.
