If you’re interested in finding out more about the University of Glasgow’s extensive collections cared for by The Hunterian and University of Glasgow Archives and Special Collections, try our new and improved online Collections Search which brings our fascinating collections together and allows you to explore them from wherever you are.
The Hunterian cares for some Scotland’s finest collections, covering subjects as diverse as the history of medicine, coins and medals, zoology and art. Archives and Special Collections is home to an extensive range of rare and important items including illuminated medieval and renaissance manuscripts, the University Archive and the Scottish Theatre Archive.
The new University of Glasgow Collections Search offers an improved user journey which lets you search across the collections by place, period or collection. You can also carry out a general search using keywords and use the zoom function to see items in more detail.
Discover programmes, scripts and posters from the Scottish Theatre Archive, explore Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s watercolours and textile designs or find out more about the items that feature in our forthcoming exhibition ‘Chasing the Jacobite Dream’.
