New Eardley website goes live
A new official website dedicated to artist Joan Eardley (1921-1963) has been launched ahead of the centenary of her birth in 2021.
The site was commissioned by Eardley's niece, Anne Morrison, and has been developed by arts journalist Jan Patience and web designer Lynne Mackenzie.
Joan Eardley is one of the outstanding figures of post-war Scottish art and is celebrated for her paintings of Glasgow children and the Aberdeenshire coast. Her life and work will be celebrated in 2021 with a series of exhibitions, displays and events.
The Hunterian is home to 27 works on paper and 12 paintings by Eardley covering most of her career, from early prints to late landscapes executed at Catterline.
