This online exhibition tells the story of the history and heritage of Sighthill, an area of Glasgow currently being reborn as one of the largest urban redevelopment projects in Europe after the demolition and removal of much of old Sighthill. Through images, text, interviews, and short pre-recorded talks – all informed by Sighthill community members past and present – the rich 20th and 21st century heritage of this place will be celebrated, from the Pinkston cooling tower, to high rise living, to the two incarnations of the unique Sighthill Stone Circle. Visitors are also invited to comment on content and upload their own heritage images, reflecting on the process of reimagining one’s social environment.

Presented as part of The Dear Green Bothy, a collaborative cultural programme from the University of Glasgow’s College of Arts showcasing creative and critical responses to climate emergency.
