Director of Research Programmes, University of Glasgow Singapore
From small beginnings in 2011, following a strategic alliance with the Singapore Institute of Technology, the University’s first subsidiary outside Scotland has grown to a unit of 17 full-time staff delivering five engineering programmes to around 600 students.
Dr Cindy Goh is at the heart of this exciting venture, working with key stakeholders to strengthen Glasgow’s research presence in Singapore.
She says, ‘I spent six enjoyable years at Glasgow as a student from BEng to PhD so it’s amazing to be back and to be able to contribute in a different capacity. This is a really exciting time for Singapore with industry booming and growing awareness of the role education and research can play in that.
‘I see this as a unique and mutually beneficial opportunity for both Glasgow and Singapore and I am delighted to be part of this venture.’
Cindy's pioneering work has helped inform the establishment of further partnerships with UESTC and Nankai in China.
