Why did you decide to become a STEM ambassador?

I became a STEM ambassador to encourage the next generation of engineers and especially girls into engineering careers.

Which area of STEM are you most passionate about?

Engineering.

What is your favourite thing about being a STEM ambassador?

Seeing how interested the kids are in engineering and lighthouses, and the amazing questions they ask.

Describe your favourite or most memorable activity ......

The best activity I did was helping the Cubs do their communications badge.  I showed them the many different ways we communicate with lighthouses and buoys, and how technology has improved over the years to aid our work.

What STEM Ambassador activity do you have planned for the future?

I don’t have any planned at the moment but I am about to develop a teachers resource for our company website, which will include STEM information and also where teachers and groups can request a STEM talk or help.

What advice would you give to new STEM ambassadors?

It's a learning curve and every STEM talk and activity is different.  The questions asked are always great and takes you more into the activity you’re doing with the kids.
