Tell us a fun fact about yourself

I was the treasurer for the MMA club at the University of Strathclyde during my physics undergraduate degree.

Tell us about your careers journey so far

I studied and achieved a 2:1 MPhys degree from the University of Strathclyde. I then chose to stay on and undertake a PhD in Chemical Engineering. It was during this time that I discovered my love for writing code and ultimately decided that I wanted to go into a career as a Software Engineer.

What was your favourite subject in school and why?

I loved maths at school because there was always a correct answer and I liked solving problems in a methodical way.

What subjects/qualifications are useful for your role?

Logical thinking
Problem solving
Being a fast learner

What is a normal day in your role like?

My day to day job involves;
Speaking to customers
Working in a team to write software
Finding and fixing bugs

What's your favourite thing about your job?

No two days are ever the same, and I love that. It keeps my job exciting and helps motivate me. One day I can be fixing a software bug and the next I can be giving an on site presentation to customers.
