Nuffield Research Placements: Applications open now

Issued: Wed, 18 Nov 2020 00:00:00 GMT

Supported by the Nuffield Foundation, NRPs provide amazing opportunities to Year 12 (or equivalent) students from low socio-economic and/or first in family backgrounds to support their progression to STEM-related further study or employment.

This successful programme equips students and develops their STEM research skills through:

• an independent study support package designed to develop their essential professional, research, data and numeracy skills
• collaboration with a knowledge expert on a ‘live’ research question relating to an area of science, quantitative social science, computing, technology, engineering or maths (or a combination!) resulting in a research poster & report
• a timetable of optional supplementary workshops and webinars that are geared towards careers guidance and training on key topics e.g. Python programming language.

NRPs are FREE to all students and students from low income households can apply for an additional £200 bursary.

We would be grateful to schools, employers and local authorities to encourage applications to this new programme via
