A new science festival from the Institute of Physics, for the East End of Glasgow

Issued: Tue, 20 Oct 2020 09:00:00 BST

A new science festival for the East End of Glasgow is coming LIVE online from the Barras Market on 30 October - 1 November.

Instead of their in-person festival, the Institute of Physics have a smaller but perfectly formed line-up of shows and talks streaming live on Youtube from the Barrowland Ballroom (and other venues in the Barras), on the weekend of the 31st October. There are also hands-on interactive workshops and chats on Zoom.

The aim is to inspire and entertain people in Glasgow, particularly the East End, that might not feel that science is for them. For young people, this could be as a career path, and for others simply as something fun to take part in online on a Sunday afternoon. With all eyes on Glasgow as we prepare to host the COP26 climate conference, there'll be lots of exciting physics-based climate solutions featured this year, plus much more.
