Glasgow Science Festival 2015

Launching this week and with two fun filled weeks of city-wide science events planned for adults, families and schools the Glasgow Science Festival means to educate this fair city once again!

Now in its 9th year they have a varied line-up of animal, human, food and drink and even prehistoric science topics covered.

Festival highlights include:

Tasty Science:

A sensory journey through the best of Scottish food and Drink with sustainable seafood at Creel to Meal at Stravaigin and Drygate, craft producers at Gin and Botanicals and an intro to gastrophysics at the Perfect Meal.

Science on Screen

Their ever-popular film strand includes outdoor screenings of The Matrix and Disrtict 9, Moon and thought-provoking short film Wish 143.

Festival of Light

It’s the 150th anniversary of the ground-breaking discoveries of James Clerk Maxwell, Scotland’s Einstein. Celebrate his birthday on the 13th June with talks, film, an exhibition and ceilidh.

Dear Green Place

Explore Glasgow’s ‘Steam to Green’ past, present and future with Science on the Streets, Images of Research and reclaiming the Human Future.

Wild about Glasgow

From dinosaur hunting to bushcraft survival, this year’s festival offers umpteen ways to enjoy the natural world. Join a chimpanzee murder trial, explore the history of the River Kelvin and if you’re feeling brave, eat some insects!

Family Science

From the weans to your granny, our free family days are packed with inspiring science-themed attractions for all ages and interests. Join the fun at Kelvingrove, Science Sunday, the Strathclyde Science Special and even St Enoch Centre.
