DIY Faraday Challenge training 28th January 4-6pm, University of Glasgow

Issued: Wed, 17 Dec 2014 12:53:00 GMT

‌Science Connects is offering a ‘quick start’ training session to introduce teachers and STEM Ambassadors to the IET DIY Faraday Challenges, supporting them to plan and run Challenge Days in schools. It is a great way to engage more local IET members, STEM Ambassadors and schools in engineering.

This training session will focus on the “Emergency Communication” Challenge:

“Students work in engineer rescue teams to design and build a prototype device that will send coded messages from Town Alpha to Town Beta which has been adversely affected by extreme weather conditions.”

There are places for 15 teachers and 15 Ambassadors on this training course and it will cover:

  • Planning to run the Challenge in schools
  • Resources required
  • What to expect
  • Evaluation and feedback

Ambassadors will be expected to partner and support a school with their Challenge Day later in 2014/15.
