Connecting schools to the world of science, technology, engineering and maths

Science Connects is the West of Scotland Hub for the STEM Ambassadors Programme from STEM Learning. We are responsible for the co-ordination and management of this volunteer role-model programme in the West of Scotland, working to inspire young people in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

  • Help to identify STEM opportunities, appropriate for each school's needs, to inspire pupils
  • Put schools and organisations together to develop Engagement and Enrichment activities
  • Share best practice and help teachers to achieve Curriculum for Excellence outcomes
  • Provide STEM Ambassadors to enthuse pupils

Science Connects is based at the University of Glasgow and offers an impartial STEM Advice Service to schools, promoting opportunities from organisations such as the Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of Chemistry, IET and the Royal Academy of Engineering.
