Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)
UFMG was founded in 1927 and is one of Brazil's five largest universities, being the largest federal university. It is one of the best universities in Latin America, with its Social Sciences course considered the best in the country and its undergraduate courses ranked in 1st place in the National Student’s Performance Exam.
UFMG is based in Belo Horizonte, in southern Brazil. The city was named for its beautiful view of the nearby mountains and is the first modern planned Brazilian city with its wide avenues, large lakes, parks and jutting skyline. One of the main attractions of the city is the football stadium at Mineirão.
