Enhancement-led Institutional Review

The University gathers and responds to feedback on the quality of our teaching in many ways. We have an excellent reputation and attach great importance to ensuring that all of our students receive a high quality learning experience.

The University was reviewed in February and March 2014 when the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) (Scotland) conducted an Enhancement-led Institutional Review of the University on behalf of the Scottish Funding Council.

The main focus of the review was the University's strategy for continually improving our learning experience for students. It also examined our ability to manage the standards of our academic awards and the quality of the learning opportunities we provide.

Review outcomes

The University received the highest possible outcome; a judgement which confirmed that the University is effective in the management of academic standards and in enhancing quality.  This is a positive judgement and reflects the dedication across the institution to providing an excellent student experience.

The University will shortly receive the outcome reports from the QAA and will publish them here.

To inform the review, the University prepared a reflective analysis and case studies outlining areas of strength and opportunities for development.  The Reflective Analysis and more information on the ELIR process is available on the Senate Office website.
