Alumna to perform US Debut of play at the Kennedy Centre
Mary Jane Wells (MA 1995) will perform in the US debut of her one woman show “Heroine” at the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC in February 2020. Based on the true story of US Army Sergeant Danna Davis, Heroine is a human story exploring healing, forgiveness and what speaking your mind really means with grit, lyricism and black humour.
Michelle Obama called Heroine “Outstanding” and Wells’ play has won many accolades including the Made in Scotland Award 2018, the Olwen Wymark Award 2018 and the Scottish Arts Trust Award 2018.
