This year the annual Goodall Symposium celebrates the 140th anniversary of the first successful brain tumour operation performed by Glasgow super-surgeon, Sir William Macewan. Hear the story behind this ground-breaking operation and discover some of the amazing advances that have taken place in this extraordinary field of surgery. We're also delighted to be joined by the University of Glasgow's Anatomy Facility for a special workshop looking at technologies for visualising the brain. Includes a drinks reception.
Our speakers for the evening will be Professor Ian Bone, retired neurologist, and Mr Roddy O'Kane, consultant neurosurgeon at the Institute of Neurosciences in Glasgow. Professor Bone will be discussing the history of brain surgery and Sir William Macewen's pioneering operation and Mr O'Kane will bring us right up to date with all the latest developments in brain surgery and what the future might hold.
