What's on offer?
This participatory workshop will provide training on how to effectively use puppetry and storytelling to promote positive relationships, empathy and boost social-emotional competency in children.
The proposed activities build on a programme of research developed in collaboration with Puppet Animation Scotland and My Kind of Book in which we designed an intervention for developing socio-emotional competence, emotional self-regulation, and positive relationships in young children using puppetry.
What’s it about?
How can puppets help us have important conversations about what we need and how we feel?
This participatory workshop is open to all, particularly families and educators who want to explore creative ways for tackling challenging conversations. Through play, we will share the process we use with our partners who want to empower children and young people to have the conversations they want to have, and how we support their teachers and families to facilitate these, alongside our friendly puppeteers!
