All University of Glasgow staff and their families are invited to celebrate the opening of our major new exhibiton The Afterlife of Mary Queen of Scots

Mary Queen of Scots (1542-1587) has been a cultural icon and source of fascination for centuries, in Scotland and around the world. Our new exhibition explores the legend of the Scottish Queen and her cultural afterlife, considering why she has had such an important and enduring presence in Scottish collective memory and popular culture.

We hope that you can join us in the Hunterian Art Gallery for this special after-hours event. We'll be hosting some wonderful live Scottish music from the Royal Conservatoire and offering plenty of drinks and snacks. Illustrator Emmawill be delivering drawing sessions and arts and crafts activities for wee ones. You'll also get the chance to meet 'Mary' herself in person!

Admission is free and all staff and their families/friends are welcome.

*You must use your University of Glasgow email address when booking through Eventbrite.*

This event is funded by the Ferguson Bequest. Professor Thomas Ferguson (1900-1977), Henry Mechan Chair of Public Health (1944-64), bequeathed his estate to the University, with the instruction that the money should be used to foster the social side of University life.
