Leading Scots fiddle exponent Alastair Savage is joined by Gregor Blamey on piano for a concert featuring melodies connected to Robert Burns. Scotland’s great 18th century poet travelled extensively to meet the established fiddle players of his day including Niel Gow and William Marshall and used their tunes and the melodies of others for his song settings. Alastair and Gregor will perform these and other pieces from Burns era as well as contemporary melodies inspired by Burns legacy.
