The Climate Emergency Newsroom (CEN) is a collaboration between Politics and International Relations and South Lanarkshire Council’s Education Resources in recognition of Glasgow’s role as host of COP26.

As world leaders and climate change advocates gather for COP26 in Glasgow, 80 6th Year pupils from South Lanarkshire’s secondary schools will come together to form a Climate Emergency Newsroom at the St. Andrew’s Building, in the heart of Glasgow.

Young people will become journalists, covering the events of COP26; interviewing climate leaders, advocates and scientists; exploring the local actions people can take to tackle climate change; and taking complex ideas around climate change and presenting them in clear and accessible ways for their audience.

Most importantly, the audience for CEN is other young people – specifically the primary school children of South Lanarkshire and beyond.

If you would like to submit a story idea to the newsroom or are interested in being interviewed by CEN please complete this form
