In April, the School of Mathematics and Statistics will host BMC-BAMC 2020. BMC-BAMC is a 5-yearly joint meeting of the British Mathematical Colloquium (BMC) and the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium (BAMC).

As part of the meeting there will be a Public Lecture by Moon Duchin, Tufts University, USA.

How we divide ourselves up to vote, and why it matters

This talk will be aimed at a general audience and will address electoral redistricting. Every single voter around the globe is affected electoral boundaries, this talk will give the opportunity for people to understand  how this important aspect of democracy works and affects the outcome of our elections and votes.

This lecture will be aimed at a general audience and will consider electoral redistricting and the associated mathematical research.  This is a free, ticketed event.  More information and tickets are available via Eventbrite.
