This year’s event has the theme of ‘Things I Wish I’d Known Before I Started’. The first part of the day will feature several very short lightning talks on scholarship projects that have already taken place, focusing on the realisations, unexpected developments, and obstacles that came up during the process. You’ll then have a chance to follow up with the presenters you think had the insights and generalisable lessons most relevant to you and your situation in a speed-networking round.
Later in the day, a summary of the key steps for a well-designed scholarship project will be outlined by Dr Nathalie Sheridan, Academic & Digital Development Adviser, along with signposts to where you can access more guidance, both online and in person.
This event will also be a chance to feed into the creation of the upcoming Learning Analytics Policy, which will provide a framework for the use of different types of data in support of student learning. Professor Wendy Anderson and Dr Georgina Wardle, members of the Learning Analytics Policy workstream, are currently consulting on a draft version. They will present current plans and open a discussion, so this will be your chance to ask questions and help to shape the final policy and associated guidance.
In addition, the College Librarians will be on hand throughout the day to help you choose the best journal for any potential scholarship publications.
A full programme, booking form and key messages from last year’s visiting journal editors are available on the LEADS website at:
