Marking the William Hunter Tercentenary, this major exhibition offers a critical examination of Hunterian founder Dr William Hunter (1718-1783) - a man of exceptional vision who saw no boundaries between art and science. 'William Hunter and the Anatomy of the Modern Museum' explores his life, character and career as well as his research and links to Glasgow. Showcasing Hunter’s truly unique and encyclopaedic collection, the exhibition also reveals the contribution made by Hunter to the development of museums as we know them today. More than 400 items are on display, reunited for the first time in over 150 years and presented to highlight the connections between them. 'William Hunter and the Anatomy of the Modern Museum' is a collaboration with the Yale Center for British Art.

Please note, the exhibition is open from 10.00am - 5.00pm Tuesday to Saturday and 11.00am - 4.00pm on Sundays. Closed Mondays. Admission free.
