As part of a celebratory calendar of events to mark the 20th anniversary of the University of Glasgow in Dumfries the School of Interdisciplinary Studies is hosting a series of lectures by leading figures from a wide range of professions and in August we welcome Andy Goldsworthy.

For over 40 years artist Andy Goldsworthy has been making work using the materials and conditions that he encounters wherever he is, be it cities such as Rio de Janeiro, New York City, Montreal and San Francisco, or places such as the New Mexico desert, the mountains of central Spain and southern France, or the fells and fields of Cumbria and Dumfriesshire.

On Friday 30 August as part of the series of lectures to celebrate 20 years of the University of Glasgow in Dumfries, the School of Interdisciplinary Studies will host Goldsworthy, a resident of Dumfries and Galloway since 1985, who will speak about his most recent projects and body of work.

Tickets for this event are £5. Please go to www.dgboxoffice.co.uk/, call 01387 253 383, email midsteeple@dumgal.gov.uk or visit the Mid Steeple Box Office in Dumfries.
