Stephen Harrow
Dr Stephen Harrow is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centrea in Glasgow. He specialises in tumours of the thorax.
He completed a PhD combining radiation and viro-therapy in high grade glioma prior to completing his specialist training.
Dr Harrow then undertook a fellowship in Radiation Oncology with the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver. There he was involved in a number of research projects and was involved in the initiation of their StereoTactic Body Radiotherapy lung programme. He returned to the Beatson in 2009 to take up a consultant position.
Over the past few years Dr Harrow has been involved in developing a local StereoTactic Ablative Radiotherapy programme using VMAT IMRT for lung cancer and oligometastatic disease. He was awarded a National Research Scotland Fellowship from the Chief Scientists Office to expand and develop radiation oncology research at a local and national level focusing on malignancies of the thorax. He has a number of ongoing laboratory and clinical research projects.
