After undergraduate degrees at Strathclyde University and Paisley University - Physics BSc(Hons) - I completed a Masters in Medical Physics at Aberdeen University.
Enrolling in the IPEM medical physics training scheme, i worked at the Hull and East Yorkshire hospitals trust to complete my Part 1 training and subsequently the Christie NHS Foundation Trust for my Part 2.
I spent the next 8 years working in Treatment planning and Dosimetry at the Christie in various roles including lead for Proton dosimetry during the initial implementation of this project. In 2017 i took up the post of Head of Treatment Planning at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre where i am currently working.
Since 2015 i have been enrolled in the Higher Scientific Specialist Training scheme, due to be completed this year.
