Research vision

I am environmental engineer who has a strong interest in the harvesting the potential of microbial communities to treat water pollutions. Currently, I am exploring the potential of the microorganisms for treating drinking water, and optimizing the biology to intensify the desired bioprocess using multidisciplinary approach (i. e., engineering, microbiological and modelling). I am also interested to learn and explore how to advance drinking water treatment at a small scale for rural communities.

Expectations from collaboration

I have various research experience in drinking and waste water treatment sectors ranging from engineering and modeling tasks to microbiological and bioinformatics work. I have conducted work at different research institutes and universities (Italy, Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland) as well as collaborated with the industrial partners (Netherlands and Sweden). Therefore, I keen on sharing my multidisciplinary knowledge and international experience with both academic and industrial collaborators.

Key Skills

  • Bioreactors design and optimisation;
  • Biological water treatment design;
  • Molecular microbial ecology;
  • Metagenomics;
  • Mathematical modelling
