Our ecosystem

Image of the collaboration zone

Offering close proximity to clinical expertise and innovation and bringing together key initiatives and enabling infrastructure across the hospital campus, the CIZ is a highly supportive, flexible and growing ecosystem.

Providing co-location opportunities within 22,000 ft2 of dedicated innovation and Touchdown space, the Clinical Innovation Zone is home to a mix of local and international companies, including start-ups and spin-outs, small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and multinational corporations.

Supported by the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences Innovation Team, the Clinical Innovation Zone links broad research and initiatives across the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, the wider University of Glasgow community and external stakeholders.

“The decision to locate Causeway in the Clinical Innovation Zone was easy to make. Its location on the QEUH campus means that we are ideally placed close to the patients suffering from the musculoskeletal diseases we are developing therapies for, while being nearby to the University of Glasgow where we collaborate with academics trying to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive these diseases. More broadly being based in Scotland allows us to take advantage of the rich ecosystem of CRO/CMO companies that support the pre-clinical and clinical phases of our R&D.”
