Dean of Public Engagement

Professor Kevin O’Dell was appointed as Dean for Public Engagement from 1 July 2016 for a term of four years.  This new position aims to significantly increase the range, participation in, and impact of the University of Glasgow’s public engagement activities.

As part of this role Kevin is chair of the Public Engagament Co-ordinators Group: A monthly meeting of engagement professionals from across the University.


Public Engagement Co-ordinators Group

The Public Engagement Coordinators Group (PECG) is comprised of staff from across the University who have external engagement or public outreach as part of their job role.

The PECG meet every month to share ideas and learning, support public engagement strategy development and identify ways of working together.

Social Media Super Group

For everything pertaining to Social Media across the University of Glasgow. 

Help and support is offered via a yammer group and SMeRT (round table) meetings.


Glasgow Science Festival

The Glasgow Science Festival aims to showcase the outstanding contribution Glasgow and Glasgow based researchers make to the worlds of science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM).

With an annual June Festival and numerous community projects the Festival team offer a range of engagement opportunities and training.
