Professor Jim Brewer, Professor Paul Garside, Professor Carl Goodyear, Professor Matt Marti, Dr Megan MacLeod, Dr Prescilla Ngotho, Dr Thomas Otto, Dr Emma Thomson and Prof Andy Waters participated in the course, aimed at training African early career scientists and featuring parasitology and immunology lectures as well as training in grant writing skills.

Prof Waters, Director of the WTCMP, commented: “KenBOP proved to be an excellent means to communicate with a group of young African scientists who proved to be our most impressive cohort yet. The opportunity not only allowed some valuable learning experiences, but equally provided all with the chance to build and expand their network of contacts.  Our hosts at KEMRI-Wellcome were wonderful and the course was enjoyed by all”.
