New mental health network led by MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Science Unit (SPHSU)
The Transdisciplinary Research for the Improvement of Youth Mental Public Health (TRIUMPH) Network, led by Lisa McDaid, Professor of Social Sciences and Health within the SPHSU, Institute of Health and Wellbeing, was one of eight new mental health networks announced by UK Research and Innovation, supported with £8M of funding.
These networks will embrace a collaborative ethos, bringing together researchers from a wide range of disciplines, including health, medicine, biology, social sciences, humanities and environmental sciences.
TRIUMPH is a collaboration between Cardiff University, Glasgow School of Art, the Mental Health Foundation, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow and Queen’s University of Belfast.
This network will focus on young people and bring them together with academics from across all disciplines to find solutions to prevent and reduce mental health problems.
