Are you interested in Public and Patient Involvement?

Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in research is well-established as a crucial feature of the research process, from the development of the research questions to dissemination. Many colleagues across the College have strong PPI networks and it is important to recognise and consolidate current activity.

A team, led by the Institute of Health and Wellbeing Public Engagement Group, has secured support from the MRC Proximity to Discovery fund, Wellcome Institutional Strategic Support Fund and the College to develop PPI activity. The aim of the group is to map current PPI links, develop training for researchers and PPI members and ultimately to convene a PPI Steering Group which links to a range of community organisations and partners.  It would be helpful if any colleagues with strong PPI links would contact Dr Sara Macdonald or Dr Tracy Ibbotson to ensure they are included in the PPI map.
