Success for School of Veterinary Medicine PhD students

Two of the School of Veterinary Medicine’s PhD students have recently enjoyed success at a jointly held World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) and British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) conference in Dublin in April 2018.

Allison Craig was awarded the President’s Prize for best student talk by the WPSA for her presentation “Xylanase effect on growth partly explained by effects on pre-caecal flow of oligosaccharides in broilers”.  

Anna Garber was awarded the highest score for a student presentation by the BSAS for her presentation ‘Yeast supplementation may have a positive effect on faecal microbiome in ponies fed high starch and high fibre diets.”
