MRC Confidence in Concept funding

The University of Glasgow MRC Confidence in Concept award provides us with flexible bridge funding to support the development of projects with strong translational potential. MRC logoProposals which have potential to progress towards precision based diagnostics (molecular and imaging) are particularly encouraged, including:

  • The design of potential new diagnostics
  • Translation of research into a new diagnostic
  • Application of potential new diagnostics in the end-user setting

Please note that Confidence in Concept funding is not designed to support fundamental/basic research activities; rather it is intended to support the further development of more advanced discovery outcomes from such research. It is anticipated that awards will be in the region of £50-£100k with milestones and objectives completed within 6-12 months of award date. The call opens on the 1st August until the 28th February 2018 and applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
