Queen's Birthday Honours for University of Glasgow
Professor Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, was awarded a knighthood in this year’s Birthday Honours for services to economics and higher education. There was also recognition for three MVLS colleagues: Emeritus Professor Graham Watt of the Institute of Health and Wellbeing received a CBE for services to healthcare; Professor Brenda Gibson, lead clinician for haematology and oncology services in the Institute of Cancer Sciences, received an OBE for services to child healthcare; and Professor Phil Cotton, Professor of Learning & Teaching in the School of Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing, (currently on secondment from his University of Glasgow post and serving as Vice Chancellor of the University of Rwanda) received an OBE for services to education in Rwanda.
