Human Biology workshops for school pupils

At the end of August, Dr David Bhella (Centre for Virus Research), Dr Sharon Macnab (Glasgow Science Centre) and Professor Kevin O'Dell (School of Life Sciences) and Image of students around a lab benchseveral of their colleagues host the ‘Applications of DNA: Human Biology Workshops’. Over six days, 600 S5/6 students, some from as far away as Plockton in the Highlands, will gain hands-on experience of molecular techniques, be immersed in discussions on ethics and receive career advice at a highly successful event that has been running for over ten years. The organisers are also grateful for support from Thermo-Fisher and Glasgow City Council.
