MSci work placement success

The School of Life Sciences (SLS) is delighted to report great success for their undergraduate MSci students in gaining work placements for the coming 2017/18 academic year. Image of students in waterLife Sciences students compete with students from all over the UK and beyond for fully salaried year-long work placements.  Successes this year include ten students winning placements with GlaxoSmithKline; three going to AstraZeneca in Cambridge, and one going to Life Arc.

Students have also found placements in some of the most prestigious Research Institutes in the world. One student is going to each of the following: the Francis Crick Institute in London, the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh and three students have obtained placements at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. SLS’ reputation has grown to such an extent that they place more Life Sciences students in these most highly competitive placements than all other Scottish universities combined.
