The Institute of Biodiversity, Animal Health and Comparative Medicine (IBAHCM) have been internationally recognised as International Women's Day 2018 Best Practice Winner for Education and Academia: Knowledge and Impact by the International Women's Day Association.

Dr Michelle Bellingham, lecturer within IBAHCM organised a Coffee and Cake morning on 8th March 2018 to celebrate women in STEM. Staff and students from across the Institute came together to hear Professor Sarah Cleaveland, Professor of Comparative Epidemiology, give an inspiring address about the barriers she has faced, her achievements, role models and highlight global challenges faced by women.

A "Wall of Celebration" was created, featuring posters, promotional videos featuring female staff from within the Institute, and staff and students #PressforProgress pledges (pictured right).

This recognition highlights the pledge the Institute is making to celebrate all aspects of diversity and inclusion in line with their Athena SWAN commitment.
