Researchers from the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR), Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation, recently hosted “Contagious Fun” sessions for Science Sunday, part of the Glasgow Science Festival. Families were invited to explore the microscopic world of viruses with CVR researchers on hand to answer questions.
They were also part of a classroom takeover in Cleveden Secondary School for Higher Biology pupils during the MRC Festival of Medical Research, where a range of activities showcase MRC-funded research. Dr Claire Donald, Research Associate, CVR was delighted to be selected for “I’m a Scientist”, also part of the MRC festival, where school pupils get to ask scientists questions on a range of scientific questions via an online chat room.
