Professor Annette MacLeod, Principal Investigator within the Wellcome Centre for Molecular Parasitology (WCMP,) and a member of the Institute of Biodiversity, Animal Health and Comparative Medicine, is enjoying a very successful year!

Not only has she renewed her Senior Fellowship and Trypanogen network, both from the Wellcome Trust, but she was also recently awarded the prestigious CA Wright Memorial Medal, given in recognition of outstanding contribution to parasitology. She has also been appointed a Professor of Parasitology at the University of Glasgow.

Professor Andy Waters, Director of the WCMP, commented: “Annette’s work has been outstanding for any years and 2018 has seen the concrete outcomes of her pioneering work at the interface of Trypanosome biology, population genomics and pathogenesis. Her rewards in terms of publications, fellowship renewal, peer recognition and finally her elevation to Professor are all richly deserved.”
