Research studies by students

Graphic representation of the student project roadmap

As part of their educational qualification, University of Glasgow students may be required to conduct a research project. In many cases, this will involve humans, their data or tissue and may, therefore, be subject to certain regulations to ensure the safety of participants and the quality of the information collected.

The regulatory landscape can be daunting, and which approvals are required before a study can begin will depend on the nature of the research. To help navigate the process, this roadmap details the various stages you may encounter and the order in which you should do things. Information for each ‘button’ can be found here.
