‘A jubilant adventure of discovery and peril among the stars’ is one description of the game Outer Wilds. Yet, in this distinctively alien setting of discovering new worlds and unravelling mysteries of time, research-based exploration may also give us new insights into being human. Join a virtual field trip inside a playthrough of this BAFTA-Winning Best Game of the Year, showing the different ways in which people may use games to explore and understand new worlds, as well as re-interpreting existing ones.

This event is presented by the College of Arts at the University of Glasgow as part of Being Human, the UK’s only national festival of the humanities, taking place 12–22 November. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
