Nanobiominetics for bone tissue engineering: osteoprogenitor adhesion and differentiation involving the fabrication on nano-scale surface features that alter stem cell behaviour, driving differentiation towards the production of bone in vitro. A combination of microscopy and genomics are being used to asses the cell phenotype and once optimal topgraphies have been selected, three-dimensional bioreactor culture will allow the production of better bone in the laboratory.
