Report of Laibach at La Locomotive 2004
by Ludovic T.
Laibach offered to us another great show tonight, it was really
fantastic.
The doors of La Loco opened at 10PM. Inside there was a very complete merchandising stand with many t-shirts, posters, cards, ties.... I bought my condoms, I'm now protected of antisemitism ;-) The crowd was mainly goth style, some german military clothes and a few (ten max) neo puppets. Of course a big part of cool boys and girls.
The first part was various electro/ebm during 1h30, the show started at 11.30PM.
In first an atmospheric track unknown to me, good to introduce L+. It was played after the eurovision song, and B Mashina started. So
Milan appeared quietly and concentrated on stage to launch the onslaught.
The tracklisting is the same than others shows. For the encore they played Mama Leone, Sympathy For The Devil, Geburt Einer Nation (with
some sounds of Kraftbach-Liewerk inside, a nice variation) and Life is Life.
It was a nice holistic demonstration of Laibachkunst. I loved the stage game of Milan, he keeps the crowd in his hands! The girls with cymbals were superbs during Mama Leone. The guitarist is really incredible, he plays what he wants as he wants so easily! The light show
was really beautiful. Just a pity Dejan wasn't here with his legendary chess-keyboard.
There was more feedback with the crowd than last year, a part of the front danced and clapped, many sang with Milan......
Come back when you want Laibach, you're here like at home!
