This exhibition brings together a range of key works by over 40 artists including the Gutai group, Pinot Gallizio, the Vienna Aktionists, Cindy Sherman, Eleanor Antin, IRWIN, Ei Arakawa and Lucy McKenzie. Moving through half a century of artwork in the form of painting, video and photography, alongside archival and documentary material.

Manifesta 9 takes place from June 2 until September 30, 2012 at the site of the former Waterschei mine in Genk, Limburg, Belgium. Irwin is exhibiting the work Red Districts from 1987.

The CHELSEA space focus on NSK archive material will be complemented by a survey of publications and films at Calvert 22 whilst Tate Modern will host a symposium and a Turbine Hall concert by Laibach. Neue Sloweninsche Kunst 1984-1992 is curated by Michele Draseck who has been working for the Laibach and Irwin archives in Ljubljana, the exhibition provides a fascinating insight into the complexities of one of the most important artistic movements to emerge from Eastern Europe and its connections with the UK.
Drawing on material sourced from various archives covering the period 1984 – 1992, including the Laibach Kunst, IRWIN, and New Collectivism archives in Ljubljana, as well as the archive of David Gothard in London, this show will feature photographs, posters, catalogues, and video documentation, alongside numerous articles published in the UK that relate to exhibitions, performances and concerts by Neue Slowenische Kunst.
This will include documentation from the London performances of Laibach with Michael Clark in his No Fire Escape in Hell show in 1986; photos from 1986 Baptism performance of The Theatre of Sisters, Scipion Nasica, directed by Dragan Živadinov, and posters from the IRWIN exhibition The Maginot Line at Riverside Studios in 1988.

January '12 - NSK Passport Office with Irwin, New York & NSK Rendezvous MoMA
Print Studio will host the NSK Passport Office, New York for three days and issue a limited number of passports. A concurrent series of presentations, discussions, screenings and a culminating NSK State Citizens Rendezvous offers a forum to engage the public with ideas central to the NSK State and what it means to be a citizen of this non-territorial entity.

October '11 - State of Emergence Publication and Promotion
Ploettner Verlag and Poison Cabinet Press will shortly release the book “State of Emergence”. The book is a result of the first NSK Congress meeting that took place in Berlin on October 2010. The book comprises 250 pages, featuring text and images relating to the NSK State and the first congress meeting.
The book will be available for sale at the following NSK Citizens events.

September '10 - The First NSK Citizens' Congress will run from 21st to 23rd October 2010.

The first exhibition by IRWIN in Israel will take place at the Israeli Centre for Digital Art, 16 Yirmiyahu Street, Holon. Opens on February 6th and lasting until April 10th. NSK passports will be issued at the opening and there will also be a live performance by Kreuzer and Maya Dunietz.

January '08 - Irwin will exhibit their work at the Aarhus Art Building in Denmark from February 2nd to April 6th, 2008. The main highlight will be NSK-State in Time, which will be looking back at almost fifteen years of existence and now with several thousands citizens. Alexei Monroe will deliver a lecture at 6.30 p.m. on the opening day titled "NSK: The State Which Ran Away With Itself." The exhibition will include filmed interviews with various NSK citizens and also look some of the more recent issues such as the problematic high amount of interest from Africa where they falsely believe that the NSK passport would give them automatic rights to enter Europe. http://www.aarhuskunstbygning.dk/english/
November '06 - Alexei Monroe will present a lecture at Loughborough University on the 6th of December 2006. The title 'States of Performance: State as Material in the work of Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK)' takes place in the Martin Hall Theatre at 3pm.

A new embassy of the NSK State - " NSK.IS: A STATE OF MIND", will open 22.3.07 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
It opens with an exhibition that deals with the social schizophrenia of modern society - the distortions of reality, disturbances of thought and omission of truth.
The exhibition is entitled "Homo Consumus", the artwork by Homo Consumus, a representative for the NSK State in Reykjavik, Iceland.
At the opening ceremony the ideas, background, various departments and embassies of NSK will be introduced.
The work and history of Neue Slowenische Kunst are a mirror reflecting the history of Europe in the 20th century.
The embassy´s opening will be honoured by a special performance delivered by Peter Mlakar, the representative for the philosophical branch of NSK (Hagnýta, Hreina Heimspekideildin - The Department of Pure and Practical Philosophy) and his visual assistant Ervin Markosek, a collaborator in the musical department of NSK (Laibach, who visited Reykjavik 22.3.06, and a graphic designer for the NSK-State.

January '06 - Alexei Monroe's first presentation of the book Interrogation Machine will be part of the symposium 'Cultural activism today: strategies of over-identification'. This will take place at Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum on Thursday 19th January. Also featuring in the program is a showing of Laibach’s new film 'Divided States of America’.

September '04 - A photo exhibition by Joze Suhadolink has open at the Galerija Fotografija in Ljubljana, titled "Neue Slowenische Kunst: 1984-1999" presenting rare and exclusive photos of NSK events and portraits of NSK members. The exhibition will run from September 16th until October 13th.

Northwest Film Forum and Scala House Press will present "State of Art: The New Slovene Avant Garde." The weeklong festival from November 18th -20th in Seattle USA will showcase best of a new breed of contemporary Slovenian filmmakers, writers, artists, and musicians. The NSK-Zizek Connection, Manchester 15th April, 6pm. Alexei Monroe and Ian Parker, author of "A Critical Introduction to Zizek", will discuss the work of the Slovene thinker Slavoj Zizek in relation to NSK. The event will take place at the Cornerhouse Gallery Manchester where Irwin's Like to Like exhibition is running till 17th April. Besides the talks there will be a slide presentation plus videos and music. All welcome.
March '04 - Irwin in Dublin : East Art Map - Interactive Installation
Irwin's exhibition in Dublin will be held at the Project Arts Centre from April 30th to May 7th 2004. The theme centres on events in the former Soviet Bloc in relation to art. They will also unveil a new work that will be commissioned specifically for this Dublin event.

October '03 - Dublin will play host to special a NSK event, including a concert by Laibach. This event was initiated by Helena Drnovsek-Zorko (Slovenian Ambassador to Ireland), to be part of the celebrations welcoming the 10 new countries joining the EU. It is planned for May 2004 during Ireland's Presidency of the European Union.

Two new books came out featuring substantial chapters on NSK. The new MIT Press book 'Impossible Histories' also had Irwin's work on the cover. The other book is called 'Postmodernism and the Postsocialist Condition' by UC Press.
August '03 - Maska Ljubljana will soon publish 'Plural Monolith: Laibach & NSK' by English art historian, theoretician and music expert, Alexei Monroe. The book will be in Slovene, available on September 9th 2003; the English language version will be published late 2004.
